Abstract
This article addresses the issue of marine animal extinction, analyzing its causes, consequences, and the impact this situation generates on society. The primary objective of this research is to analyze the impact of human and climatic activity on the destruction of marine animal habitats, as well as to understand their importance and why the extinction of marine species does not only affect aquatic life. The ocean constitutes a vital ecosystem for all living beings, as it hosts a vast diversity of marine species, both plant and animal; however, this study focuses solely on fauna, acknowledging that the lack of awareness, care, and protection directly affects all forms of life. For this research, an exhaustive search for information was conducted across various sources, revealing that there are few articles specifically regarding the extinction of marine animals, which hindered the data collection process. Nevertheless, the gathered data was organized and presented in an orderly manner.
Keywords: extinction, marine animals, human activity.
