La pobreza en Ecuador
Poverty in Ecuador

Resumen
En el presente artículo hablaremos acerca de la pobreza, entendida como la imposibilidad de cubrir las necesidades esenciales debido a la falta de recursos, como vivienda, atención médica, educación, alimentación y servicios básicos, entre otros. La pobreza es un desafío complejo y multifacético que va más allá de la mera carencia de recursos económicos, abarcando la ausencia de acceso a servicios fundamentales y está marcada por la discriminación, inseguridad alimentaria y marginación social. Se origina en causas sistémicas y estructurales, como la falta de recursos económicos y la carencia de oportunidades de empleo. Sus efectos se extienden a niveles individuales, comunitarios y nacionales, perpetuando ciclos de escasez y restringiendo el progreso humano y social. Para abordar eficazmente este desafío, es crucial adoptar acciones preventivas que atiendan las raíces del problema e impulsen la equidad de acceso a oportunidades, además de estimular la colaboración y la coordinación entre diferentes sectores de la sociedad.

Abstract
This article discusses poverty, understood as the inability to meet essential needs due to a lack of resources such as housing, healthcare, education, food, and basic services, among others. Poverty is a complex and multifaceted challenge that goes beyond mere economic deprivation, encompassing the lack of access to fundamental services and characterized by discrimination, food insecurity, and social marginalization. It originates from systemic and structural causes, such as economic resource shortages and lack of employment opportunities. Its effects extend to individual, community, and national levels, perpetuating cycles of scarcity and limiting human and social progress. To effectively address this challenge, it is crucial to adopt preventive actions that tackle the root causes and promote equitable access to opportunities, as well as to encourage collaboration and coordination among different sectors of society.
