Las consecuencias de la contaminación de los océanos
The consequences of ocean pollution

Resumen
En este artículo se exploran las diferentes modalidades de contaminación oceánica, sus efectos y las repercusiones que generan tanto en los ecosistemas marinos como en la salud humana, además de investigar posibles soluciones para mitigar sus impactos. La contaminación de los mares genera múltiples efectos negativos que impactan tanto en los ecosistemas marinos como en la salud humana, provocando un daño de alcance considerable. Afrontar esta problemática requiere la participación activa de las autoridades y de los responsables de la toma de decisiones políticas. Si bien las alternativas disponibles pueden ser limitadas, medidas como la reducción del uso de plásticos de un solo uso, una gestión más eficiente de los desechos y la implementación de Áreas Marinas Protegidas (AMP) podrían contribuir de manera significativa a la mitigación de la contaminación marina.

Abstract
This article explores the various forms of ocean pollution, their effects, and the repercussions generated for both marine ecosystems and human health, while also investigating potential solutions to mitigate their impacts. Marine pollution produces multiple negative effects that impact both marine environments and human health, causing damage of considerable scope. Addressing this issue requires the active participation of authorities and political policymakers. Although available alternatives may be limited, measures such as reducing the use of single-use plastics, implementing more efficient waste management, and establishing Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) could significantly contribute to the mitigation of marine pollution.
