La cuarentena y sus experiencias

Resumen
En la actualidad el COVID-19 es una enfermedad infecciosa que está por todo mundo causando muchos daños. Es provocada el SARS-CoV-2, un coronavirus perteneciente a una extensa familia de virus que pueden causar enfermedades tanto en animales como en humanos. En las personas, se sabe que causan infecciones respiratorias que pueden ir desde el resfriado común hasta enfermedades más graves. Estos eran desconocidos hasta que el día 12 de diciembre del 2019, la Comisión Municipal de Salud de Wuhan reportó 27 pacientes, de los cuales 7 se encontraban en condiciones críticas, presentando neumonía viral. Ellos tuvieron contacto con más personas en un mercado mayorista, por esta razón fue clausurado, se realizaron evaluaciones epidemiológicas y se notificó a la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) solicitando asesoramiento por parte de su centro de operaciones estratégicas en salud. En marzo apareció en Ecuador, la paciente 0 fue una señora que vino al país desde Europa y que viajó por algunas localidades del país, lo que dio inicio a los contagios en la Costa. Ese fue el inicio de un cambio radical en la vida de los ecuatorianos. Para poder sobrevivir a este mortal virus, se tomaron todo tipo de precauciones, cancelaron las clases presenciales en colegios, escuelas, universidades. Cerraron lugares turísticos, salones de eventos y de diversiones, con el fin de poder poner a salvo la vida de las personas y evitar muertes.

Abstract
COVID-19, currently a globally widespread infectious disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 (a coronavirus from a large family of viruses affecting both animals and humans), has caused significant harm. These coronaviruses were unknown until December 12, 2019, when Wuhan’s Municipal Health Commission reported 27 cases of viral pneumonia, including 7 critical patients. Transmission occurred at a wholesale market, leading to its closure, epidemiological investigations, and notifications to the World Health Organization (WHO) requesting guidance from its strategic health operations center.
The virus reached Ecuador in March 2020, with “Patient Zero” being a woman who traveled from Europe to various locations, initiating outbreaks in the coastal region. This marked the beginning of radical lifestyle changes for Ecuadorians. Survival measures included canceling in-person classes at all educational levels and closing tourist sites, event venues, and entertainment establishments to protect public health and prevent deaths.
