La Covid-19 en el cantón Paute
COVID-19 in the Paute canton

Resumen
Los coronavirus son importantes patógenos humanos y animales. A finales de 2019 se identificó un nuevo coronavirus como la causa de un grupo de casos de neumonía de Wuhan, una ciudad en la provincia de China de Hubei. Se extendió rápidamente, dando como resultado una epidemia en toda China, seguida de un número creciente de casos en otros países del mundo. En febrero del 2020, la Organización Mundial de la Salud designó la enfermedad como COVID-19. El virus causante se denomina coronavirus 2 del síndrome respiratorio agudo severo (SARS-CoV-2); anteriormente, se denominaba 2019-nCoV. La pandemia de COVID-19 ha tenido un impacto devastador en Ecuador en lo sanitario, económico y social. Los primeros focos de contagio se demostraron en la ciudad de Guayaquil.
El paciente 0 fue un caso importado desde España. En el Ecuador se decretó emergencia sanitaria a nivel nacional mediante Acuerdo Ministerial 00126-2020 emitido el 11 de marzo por la ministra de Salud, con el objetivo de precautelar la salud de los ecuatorianos. Esto ha aumentado el temor de las personas al contagio de la COVID-19, pero a la vez ha creado hábitos de higiene en la mayoría de ciudadanos del cantón Paute. Para realizar el análisis se considera la información de la Organización Mundial de Salud (OMS), del distrito 01D06 Paute-El Pan Guachapala- Sevilla de Oro– Salud, al ser confiable y veraz para realizar el análisis de los diferentes aspectos de repercusión de la COVID-19.

Abstract
Coronaviruses are important human and animal pathogens. In late 2019, a new coronavirus was identified as the cause of a cluster of pneumonia cases in Wuhan, a city in China’s Hubei province. It spread rapidly, resulting in an epidemic throughout China, followed by a growing number of cases in other countries around the world. In February 2020, the World Health Organization designated the disease as COVID-19. The causative virus causing the disease is called severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2); it was previously called 2019-nCoV. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on Ecuador in terms of health, economy, and society. The first outbreaks of infection were detected in the city of Guayaquil.
Patient 0 was a case imported from Spain. In Ecuador, a national health emergency was declared by Ministerial Agreement 00126-2020 issued on March 11 by the Minister of Health, with the aim of protecting the health of Ecuadorians. This has increased people’s fear of COVID-19 infection, but at the same time has created hygiene habits in most citizens of the Paute canton. The analysis is based on information from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the 01D06 Paute El Pan-Guachapala-Sevilla de Oro Health District, as it is reliable and accurate for analyzing the different aspects of the impact of COVID-19.
