Autor: Bryan Marcelo Tenemaza Calle (Unidad Educativa Fiscomisional La Salle)
Abstract
This research explores in depth the multiple consequences that bullying has on students with disabilities in Ecuador, from a psychological perspective to the potential long-term effects on the victims’ mental and emotional health. A thorough analysis will be conducted to shed light on the prevention and intervention strategies implemented by educational institutions when bullying arises, thereby contributing to the development of a comprehensive approach to address and overcome this longstanding social challenge.
Even in modern times, this issue persists in today’s society. Therefore, this study will explore the underlying causes, the various forms it can take, and the mild or severe consequences it can bring, as well as the crucial measures needed to address it.
In addition, viable alternatives will be sought and proposed for educational institutions in order to prevent harm, not only to the students with disabilities who suffer from it, but also to society as a whole—because this is not a problem that affects a single person, but everyone around them.
Keywords: bullying, behavior, harassment, mental health, disability.
