Abstract
COVID-19, a recently identified infectious disease now classified as a global pandemic, has radically altered lives worldwide, including in Ecuador. As we navigate this crisis affecting both economic stability and mental health, we witness significant national changes – from the implementation of traffic-light restriction systems to welfare programs like solidarity bonds for vulnerable populations. Yet persistent challenges remain: ongoing corruption (even within healthcare systems) and inadequate public precautions continue driving infection rates upward, while education systems scramble to adapt to virtual learning. Paradoxically, the pandemic has yielded positive transformations, strengthening family bonds and fostering self-discovery of untapped personal strengths. This article examines these multifaceted impacts in detail.
Keywords: systemic corruption, socioeconomic challenges, economic recovery, educational adaptation, family resilience, social responsibility.
