Abstract
The objective of this project is to raise a piglet and bring it to an optimal weight for sale and encourage new forms of employment in the livestock sector. It is intended to diversify a sustainable agricultural production in order to supply high value proteins for the population’s food consumption, and at the same time to use the surpluses in the markets to obtain economic resources for maintenance. The work was carried out due to the high consumption of pork in the population. In addition, it was analyzed whether it could be an enterprise that could help to improve the household and producer’s economic situation. Traditional production models are taken to more technical and productive management. A piglet was used, with the objective of bringing it to an average weight of 100 kg for its respective sale or slaughtering; good animal husbandry practices were used.
