Una estudiante y la pandemia
A student and the pandemic
Autora: Daysi Carolina Orellana Fajardo
Abstract
In the following pages I write about a very personal experience of having had to face a pandemic as a student and live in the flesh the needs that afflict thousands of Ecuadorian families: not having the economic resources to cover the basic needs such as clothing, food or education that a person requires. It is a really sad and difficult situation to imagine, but it happens all over the world and it is more common than it seems. The research carried out aims to analyse the unemployment and poverty rates in the country during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as to raise awareness among readers about it in order to learn to value life. The analysis was carried out in a responsible manner and with emphasis on the case, reflecting alarming results that expose a society devastated by the pandemic and lack of work, which leads to criminal acts carried out by this population, thus increasing insecurity and danger in the streets. It is therefore hoped that the authorities will develop better strategies to combat the situation and gradually overcome the difficult times the country and the world are going through.
Keywords: pandemic, quarantine, unemployment, poverty, population, COVID-19.
