Análisis sobre la importancia de la educación sexual para la prevención del embarazo en adolescentes en estudiantes de básica superior en la UEAS
Analysis of the Importance of Sex Education for the Prevention of Adolescent Pregnancy Among Upper Basic Education Students at UEAS

Resumen
El embarazo adolescente es una problemática constante que afecta a los jóvenes y a sus familias, generando consecuencias físicas y emocionales, entre ellas las infecciones de transmisión sexual (ITS). Por ello, se propuso analizar la relevancia de la educación sexual en la prevención del embarazo adolescente en estudiantes de noveno y décimo año de Educación General Básica. La educación sexual (ES) abarca conocimientos sobre anatomía y fisiología, así como el desarrollo de habilidades de comunicación y toma de decisiones.
Diversos estudios han demostrado que una preparación sexual adecuada minimiza las conductas de riesgo y la incidencia del embarazo adolescente. Sin embargo, este tema sigue considerándose un “tabú”, lo que impide abordarlo de manera integral en el ámbito educativo. La investigación incluyó una encuesta que reveló que el 71 % de los participantes considera fundamental discutir abiertamente estos temas en un entorno escolar. Esto refleja una disposición positiva hacia la educación sexual. Además, se elaboró un video informativo para sensibilizar a los estudiantes sobre las consecuencias del embarazo adolescente y promover una reflexión responsable sobre la sexualidad.

Abstract
Adolescent pregnancy is a persistent issue that affects young people and their families, leading to physical and emotional consequences, including sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the relevance of sex education in the prevention of adolescent pregnancy among ninth and tenth-grade students of General Basic Education. Sex education (SE) encompasses knowledge of anatomy and physiology, as well as the development of communication and decision-making skills.
Various studies have shown that adequate sexual preparation minimizes risky behaviors and the incidence of adolescent pregnancy. However, this topic is still considered a “taboo,” which prevents it from being addressed comprehensively within the educational field. The research included a survey revealing that 71% of participants consider it fundamental to discuss these topics openly in a school environment. This reflects a positive disposition toward sex education. Additionally, an informative video was created to raise awareness among students about the consequences of adolescent pregnancy and to promote responsible reflection on sexuality.
